Alliance Française du Cap is a cultural and language centre located in Cape Town, South Africa. Affiliated to the Paris-based Fondation des Alliances Françaises, it was founded in 1959. Its goals are to teach French, promote the French and francophone cultures as well as advocate for cultural diversity and encourage intercultural exchanges between France, French-speaking countries, and South Africa.
French Cultural Centre
To provide an authentic and comprehensive learning and cultural experience, a wide range of social and cultural activities are proposed to the Alliance Française students and members. They also have access to the media library where they can borrow French-language books, DVDs, and magazines and avail of Culturethèque, the portal to the largest pool of online French resources in the world.
With a gallery and a large hall of 100 m² that can accommodate up to 150 people, Alliance Française du Cap regularly hosts cultural events such as exhibitions, movie screenings, concerts…
